- Pace yourself—slow and steady wins Rinjani. Don’t race anyone.
- Have little breakfast, even not hungry
- Hydrate constantly—dehydration + altitude = misery.
- Watch your footing—the summit section is loose volcanic sand (“two steps up, one step back”).
- Listen to your guide—if they say turn back, it’s not negotiable.
- Going down is harder—save energy
- Train your legs & lungs—stair climbing, hiking with a pack, cardio

Itinerary: Mount Rinjani Trekking 4 Days
Day 01: Breakfast Box from Hotel, lunch, and dinner on the mountain (7-hour walk and distance 10 km)
- Pick up at the hotel at 05.00 am. Transfer to Sembalun. Registration at Rinjani Information Center (RIC) 1051 m.
- 09.00 Start the trek to POS 1 (Pos Pemantauan 1.300 M). 2 hours walk; take a rest of 10 minutes at POS 1.
- Walk to POS 2 for 1 hour (Pos Tengengean, 1,500 m), take a rest for 10 minutes,
- Continue to POS 3 (Pada Balong, 1,800 m), a one-hour walk. Lunch at POS 3, and rest for 2 hours.
- Continue walking up 3 hours to Crater Rim (Plawangan Sembalun, 2,639 m).
- Dinner and overnight at Crater Rim Sembalun; enjoy sunset and sunrise for the next day.
Day 02. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner On the mountain (walk 9 hours and a distance of 8.5 km)
- Wake up at 02.30 AM, have some light breakfast, and leave at 03.00 AM.
- Heading to Summit Rinjani (3,726), walking time is approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes.
- From the summit, you can see all of Lombok Island, Bali, Sumbawa, and Segara Anak Lake.
- Back to camp to get breakfast at Crater Rim Sembalun.
- Walk down to Segara Anak Lake and Hot Spring Water for 3 hours.
- Lunch will be provided in the Lake Segara Anak hot springs, just 100 meters from the lake.
- Camping at Segara Anak Lake: Enjoy the lake and its surroundings.
- Dinner and sleep at Segara Anak
Activities Day 03: Walk 4 hours and a distance of 2.5 km. Mount Rinjani Trekking 4 Days (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
- Segara Anak Lake, a new baby volcano, and having breakfast at Segara Anak Lake.
- Spend more time enjoying the lake and hot spring water.
- After lunch, journey to Goa Susu. Journey down the river and uphill to Plawangan Senaru by a 3–4 hour walk.
- Camping in the jungle of Torean (Mondokan, 1,420 m) and enjoying your dinner here
Day 04: Breakfast and Lunch on the mountain (walk Down 8-9 hours and distance 11 km)
- After breakfast and enjoying the sunrise, prepare to walk down to Torean village
- Lunch on the way to Torean village
- Arrive at Torean Village around 18.00 pm
- Prepare yourself for transfer to the hotel and end the program.

Good way to sleep on trekking Mount Rinjani
- Stuff clothes into a dry bag for a pillow
- Put backpack or spare clothes under your legs
- Use earplugs to avoid the noise of the wind
- Don’t stress about not sleeping perfectly
- Use a rain jacket over your legs inside the bag for wind blocking
- Keep tent ventilation slightly open to reduce condensation (wet = cold)
- Wear dry clothes to sleep & Thick socks
- Avoid tight clothes—they reduce circulation and make you colder
- Eat a hot dinner (rice, noodles, soup)
- Eat a snack at night (chocolate and nuts help with warmth)
