Wae Rebo Village 2-Day and 1-Night Tour
This tour program visits the traditional village of Mangarai in the district of Flores, named Wae Rebo village. Has received the Top Award of Excellence from UNESCO in 2012. The mountains and the dense Todo forest are rich with vegetation, orchids, ferns, and the chirping of many songbirds.
Where is Wae Rebo located?
At 1,100 meters above sea level, Wae Rebo is one of the highest villages in Indonesia. Wae Rebo village, currently inhabited by only 1,200 people, is located around 110 KM from Labuan Bajo, Flores.
Who is the founder of Wae Rebo village
The founder of Wae Rebo Village is Empu Maro. He built the village 100 years ago, and now it is reaching the 18th generation of descendants. The unique thing is the Mbaru Niang traditional house, covered in palm grass from the roof to the ground.
What to expect Wae Rebo tour
- Travel: The journey to Wae Rebo can be long and challenging, involving a drive and hike.
- Accommodation: You’ll stay in a local hut or Mbaru Niang house, a traditional cone-shaped house.

The Wae Rebo tour leaves from Labuan Bajo. The tour is available from Monday to Saturday. Except for Sunday, the Wae Rebo Tour is not running. Only a private tour
Itinerary: Wae Rebo Village 2-Day Tour
Day 01. Labuan Bajo – Denge village – Wae Rebo village (Lunch and dinner)

| 08:30 | Continue to Cancar Spider Web Rice Fields. Short walk to the viewpoint. |
| 09:00 | Resume drive toward Denge/Dintor village |
| 11:00 | Arrive in Dintor Village. |
| 11:45 | Transfer by car/motorbike to Denge Village (about 15–20 min). |
| 12:15 | Begin trek to Wae Rebo. Trail uphill, 6–7 km, 2.5–3 hours. |
| 14:45 | Arrive at Wae Rebo Village. Participate in the Welcoming Ceremony (“Waelu” in the main house). |
| 15:15 | Check into a shared traditional house (Mbaru Niang). Free time: explore the village, chat with locals, and enjoy coffee. |
| 18:30 | Dinner with the villagers (simple home-cooked meals). |
| 20:00 | Stargazing and relaxing in the quiet mountain atmosphere. |
| 21:00 | Sleep in the traditional house (basic bedding, mosquito nets). |
Day 2. Wae Rebo – Denge – Labuan Bajo (Breakfast & Lunch)

| 08:30 | Begin trek down to Denge (about 2–2.5 hours). |
| 11:00 | Arrive in Denge and freshen up. |

| 12:45 | Depart for Labuan Bajo. |
| 17:30 | Arrive back in Labuan Bajo. End of trip. |
